🔥Quote/Prompt

Life will give you what you ask of her, if only you ask long enough and plainly enough.

Edith Nesbit

Use the quote as a writing or thinking prompt to finish your week strong.

A bit from mine:

(posted in our Doer Entrepreneurs Free Community — off social media)

If you've been following me for a while you already know that I'm not a full believer in the 'Law of Attraction' and sometimes I feel like those who are have not actually read the book. The concept itself made more sense to me before I read the book than after. 😂

With that said, this quote embodies, to me, what I think DOES make sense.

Last week we talked about writing down our North Star goal (no matter the time frame).

This week let's think about achieving it. I mentioned that by having it front and center, it allows our 'monkey mind' brains to filter constantly for that North Star.

But that is not really enough, is it?

We need to be asking life for that North Star to become true in every way possible.

Embody it in every way possible.

I recently started watching the Arnold Schwarzenegger documentary and, no matter your feelings about him, you have to admit he did achieve his goal of being the No. 1 bodybuilder. One thing that struck me he said about his goal was that you have to not just hope for it or even work for it, you have to envision it.. […]

📈 Performance

The popular trend of emulating successful CEOs' morning routines may not be the key to success, as individual needs and habits vary. Prioritizing personal well-being over rigid routines is essential.

Key Insights:

  • Morning routines are not one-size-fits-all. While the media often highlights the morning habits of successful individuals, it's essential to recognize that what works for one person might not work for another.

  • Quality sleep is paramount. Many business leaders sacrifice sleep, with Fortune 500 CEOs averaging 6.3 hours per night. However, adequate sleep is crucial for brain function and overall well-being. Check out our article on this: New Study: “Right Sleep” Might Trump More Sleep

  • Listen to your body's natural rhythm. Instead of adhering to a strict morning routine, it's more beneficial to understand when you're naturally more productive or lethargic and adjust your schedule accordingly.

  • Chronotypes play a role. Research indicates that some people are naturally morning larks or night owls, and it's challenging to change this inherent rhythm. It's essential to find a routine that aligns with your natural tendencies.

Out of nowhere, ChatGPT took the world by storm this year, thrusting Artificial Intelligence into the spotlight where it still remains today. So it may surprise you to learn that AI isn’t that new after all. 🧐

Have you used a website’s chat bot to help you find what you’re looking for? What about smart-assistants like Alexa or Siri? Yup – AI.

One of my favorite examples comes from Constant Contact, who’s been quietly revolutionizing the email marketing and CRM industry. With its cutting-edge technology, they’ve been incorporating AI automations into their platform for years making it easier for customers to create and send highly targeted and effective campaigns.

Tired of staring at a blank page, struggling to find the right words to connect with your audience? Their AI content generator can banish writer’s block for good. Think of the time you’ll save crafting the perfect copy for marketing campaigns while increasing your open rates, without breaking a sweat.

Say goodbye to the frustration of content creation and hello to more time doing what you love with who you love. 👋

⚙️ Optimization

Body language plays a pivotal role in first impressions, with certain cues leading to instant likability. A recent study even suggests that these cues can break down cultural stereotypes in virtual meetings. The following insights can be used during a networking event as well as in-person or Zoom meeting (the camera = eye contact) to improve the outcome for you and your business.

Key Insights:

  • Eye Contact is Crucial: Maintaining eye contact indicates interest and attentiveness, fostering a positive connection.

  • Body Orientation Matters: A slight forward lean and maintaining an appropriate physical distance can enhance likability.

  • Smiling and Animation: People are drawn to those who smile and exhibit animated, expressive body language, as it feels more engaging.

  • Voice Tone and Touch: A warm and expressive tone of voice, along with appropriate touch (like a handshake), can create a sense of connectedness and leave a positive impression.

VidCon Anaheim 2023 highlighted the transformative role of AI in the creator economy, emphasizing the balance between short-form and long-form content, the rise of B2B influencers, and the importance of empathy in content creation. We attended the event to bring you key takeaways for creators and entrepreneurs who produce content of any kind.

Key Insights:

  • Short-form and Long-form Coexist: Both short-form and long-form content have their place in the creator economy. While platforms like YouTube are emphasizing short-form content, there's still a significant demand for long-form content, such as podcasts and documentaries, offering different experiences for the audience.

  • YouTube's Evolution: YouTube is increasingly becoming a competitor in the TV space, with new features like A/B testing for thumbnails and AI-driven language dubbing, expanding its reach and functionality for creators.

  • Empathy Over Positivity: Dr. Alok Kanojia highlighted the importance of genuine empathy in content creation, especially in an era where mental health issues are on the rise. Authentic connection with the audience, rather than forced positivity, can lead to more meaningful engagement.

  • B2B Influencers on the Rise: Platforms like LinkedIn are seeing a surge in B2B influencers, offering opportunities beyond traditional advertising, such as high-value referrals. This trend underscores the potential of content creation as a viable business strategy.

⏲️ Time Management

Productivity tends to dip on Mondays, with many employees expressing a preference for remote work on this day. However, understanding one's optimal work patterns and adjusting tasks accordingly can enhance overall efficiency. For example, many entrepreneurs find that Mondays are a good CEO/creativity/flex day almost serving as “onboarding” for the brain to transition from the weekend to the workweek. Check out the findings from the article and think about how you can apply them to your own schedule or that of your team.

Key Insights:

  • Mondays are challenging for productivity: Employees report being 25% less productive on Mondays, with nearly 50% experiencing increased stress. A significant portion wishes Monday was part of the weekend, and many prefer to work from home to ensure a smoother transition from the weekend and a better work-life balance.

  • Optimal productivity times exist: Data suggests that Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the most productive days for many. The time between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. is the most productive block, while late afternoons, especially on Fridays, see a drop in productivity. Recognizing and aligning tasks with one's energy levels can lead to better outcomes.

  • Consideration of work environment is crucial: Being in the office can be beneficial for tasks requiring collaboration, problem-solving, or urgency. However, understanding personal preferences and the nature of tasks can help in deciding the best location for work, be it home, office, or other places like coffee shops or coworking spaces.

The PARA Method offers a streamlined approach to organizing digital information, ensuring easy access and actionable results. Developed by Tiago Forte, this system categorizes all digital content into four main categories.

Key Insights:

  • Simplicity is Essential: The PARA Method is designed to be straightforward, making it easy to set up and maintain. This simplicity ensures that users can quickly locate and utilize their digital information without unnecessary friction.

  • Four Core Categories: All digital information can be classified into Projects (active tasks with specific goals), Areas (ongoing responsibilities in work and personal life), Resources (topics of interest and learning), and Archives (inactive or completed items from the previous categories).

  • Shift from Academic to Actionable Organization: Traditional organization methods, learned in school, categorize information by broad subjects. The PARA Method emphasizes organizing data based on current projects and goals, ensuring that all relevant materials are easily accessible.

  • Enhanced Productivity: By having all necessary materials for a project or goal in one place, users can eliminate the time spent searching for information, making it easier to start and complete tasks.

OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, is reportedly nearing bankruptcy, facing challenges from financial losses, declining user base, and other factors. Other articles report the AI chatbot race is on, so if it does get bumped off, it is likely there will be one (or, more likely, many) ready to take its place. Still, as the clear leader, it’s important to keep tabs on what’s happening with this tool.

Key Insights:

OpenAI faces financial strain: Despite efforts to monetize GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, the company has incurred a $540 million loss since ChatGPT's inception.

  • User base is declining: OpenAI saw a 12% drop in its user base between June and July, equating to a loss of around 200,000 users, based on website visits alone.

  • Differing visions within OpenAI: Sam Altman, associated with OpenAI, aims for achieving AGI superintelligence, while the company's primary focus is on profitability.

  • Regulatory and market challenges: The FTC has initiated an investigation into ChatGPT, and there's a notable shortage of GPUs, essential for AI operations, due to geopolitical tensions and market demands.

This week’s awesome books, YouTube videos, newsletters, etc. to add to your list!

In "The PARA Method," Tiago Forte presents a four-step system to manage the overwhelming information in our modern lives. This system categorizes information into Projects, Areas, Resources, and Archives. Projects are short-term tasks with specific goals, like creating a website. Areas represent broader responsibilities such as health or finances, encompassing related projects. Resources are content pieces relevant to our interests or projects, while Archives store inactive information from the previous categories for future use. Forte, with his engaging style, offers insights and strategies to effectively adopt PARA, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize work and life through digital organization.
