🔥Quote/Prompt
Don't be afraid to be amazing.
Use the quote as a writing or thinking prompt to finish your week strong.
A bit from mine:

Can we talk about fear for a second?
It seems to be the culprit when it comes to things ranging from procrastination to never taking action on something but this quote reminded me of that poem by Erin Hanson:
There is freedom waiting for you,
On the breezes of the sky,
And you ask, "What if I fall?"
Oh, but my darling,
What if you fly?
So...let's fly! 💪

🎥 Productivity Quick Tip: 30 Seconds
STOP accidental binge-watching. Yes, it’s possible - if you know this secret. Watch on: |
📈 Performance
We love to talk about how any productivity routine or hack should fit YOU and your brain vs trying to force yourself to change to fit someone else’s productivity hack.
This video takes that perspective as well and really drills down on what that means and how to improve productivity in a way that is customized. The video says that most successful and productive people have unique routines…that can't be replicated. Most of the time that’s the biggest obstacle you need to overcome. But once you do start, it’s so much easier to keep on going. Watch the video for some great ways to go about making this happen for yourself.
⚙️ Optimization
Too often we look at direct competitors. Other attorneys if you are an attorney, for example. But in today's competitive landscape, businesses face challenges not only from direct industry rivals but also from evolving customer expectations shaped by their best experiences across any sector. This concept, highlighted by IBM's Bridget van Kranlingen, suggests that the last great experience a customer has becomes their new standard for all services. Successful strategies, like Lexus's approach to luxury cars, focus on exceeding these expectations rather than merely outdoing direct competitors. Lexus redefined luxury by comparing their customer experience to elite brands outside the automotive industry, setting a new benchmark for success based on a broader understanding of competition.
Excerpt:
David Nordstrom, who is now vice president of Lexus for the Asia-Pacific region, told me several years ago, when I was researching the launch and growth of the company. “They compare us to other luxury brands. You have a certain experience with Tiffany or the Four Seasons. That’s the experience you expect at Lexus. People don’t say, ‘Well, this is the car business, so our expectations should be different.’”
Our takeaway:
Instead of always focusing on your direct competitors, it can be far more useful to look at people and companies that are using a template or hook that could be useful in your industry. For example, Uber made ordering a ride as easy as ordering a package on Amazon, which is a totally different industry.
What is YOUR version of this for YOUR industry and YOUR business?
⏲️ Time Management
You may have heard this method before (batching is another word for it) but what we like about this article is that it discusses the science behind WHY this works so you really understand how much of a “leapfrog” this can be from non-productive use of time to VERY productive use of time. Below is just one section — definitely worth a full read.
Achieving goals:
Improves focus and clarity: Each chunked step becomes your immediate focus, eliminating distractions and keeping you present in the moment. This laser-sharp focus helps you avoid multitasking and complete each task efficiently.
Reduces procrastination: Smaller, less daunting tasks feel less intimidating, reducing the urge to procrastinate. You’re more likely to tackle them head-on, building momentum and preventing delays.
Provides feedback and adaptation: Each completed chunk offers valuable feedback on your progress, allowing you to adapt your approach if needed. By analyzing your progress on smaller steps, you can identify areas for improvement and adjust your strategy accordingly.
💻 Tools & Technology
Wish you could dump all of your “hot mess” notes into a tool and have the tool use AI to organize, search, summarize, etc. so you don’t have to? That’s what Google is building with their new NotebookLM. This video is worth the watch if you frequently have a LOT of notes that you frequently shove in a folder never to be seen again or just want a better way to optimize note use.
👀 Read, Watch, Listen
This week’s awesome books, YouTube videos, newsletters, etc. to add to your list!
Do you need a million followers for your business to be successful? Maybe not. Maybe not at all, actually according to Pat Flynn’s book.
Entrepreneurs often focus on metrics—likes, purchases, subscribers—overlooking the real people behind these numbers. These individuals seek leaders who offer trustworthy advice and genuinely care about their success. By establishing authentic connections and providing valuable tools and resources, entrepreneurs can transform followers and customers into superfans. Superfans not only support and promote your brand but also become a part of your community, driven by the impactful differences you make in their lives. This transformation doesn't require changing the whole world, just making a significant difference in someone's world through magical moments cultivated over time.
