A bit from mine:

How cool is this card? I LOVE this message. One thing I've started doing recently is walking around my house talking to myself when I have an idea. I'm very extroverted and this is my (quirky? odd?) way of thinking through ideas.
How do you go about this? Do you brain dump on paper? Talk to yourself? Both?
Did someone forward this to you?
🎥 Productivity Quick Tip: 53 Seconds
This 'Never' Advice is PROBLEMATIC. 👇Here’s why & what to do instead: Watch on: |
📈 Performance
If you’re a Doers Inner Circle member you have heard Jenae say “don’t should all over yourself” more than once. This might be the first time we have seen it in an article and so we had to share it! Make sure to read the full article for more details about comparison and how important it is to recognize it and how it can truly infect your performance as a business owner or freelancer.
Don’t Should on Yourself About Comparing to Others
Instead of responding to the “thief of joy” quote by beating yourself up for comparing all the time, how about this:
Accept the fact that you have a brain, and that having a brain means you will compare to orient yourself in this life “thing” we’re all doing
Instead of adding another "should" to your self-improvement list, let go of trying to quit comparing cold turkey. Notice any comparing and smile at yourself thinking, “Well of course I am comparing, I have a comparing brain!”
Compare away, but only if you really want to, so long as you’re fully aware while you’re doing so!
Right now, what happens if you mindfully notice any comparing you’ve done recently (or 10 seconds ago) and cut yourself the slack of acknowledging your brain is doing its job of trying to protect you? Instead of trying to cold-turkey-quit from any comparing, what if you rewired and put comparing to work in service of your highest, most valuable, and meaningful intentions?
⚙️ Optimization
This article is technically about Search Engine Optimization and Conversation Rate Optimization…BUT it actually has information for any business owner looking to optimize their marketing regardless of whether it’s via SEO or not. It’s more about how to get inside your customer’s mind, and use that understanding to improve your marketing. We’ve provided a great excerpt below, but check out the full article for some really great insights on this. If you’re working on your marketing, you will want to bookmark this article.
1. Fast and slow thinking
Fast versus slow thinking, and the tension between them, is the foundation of behavioral economics. In many ways, it measures how good we are at using logic rather than emotions to make decisions.
And acknowledging that sometimes, while we think we may make decisions rationally, we make them emotionally and then justify them logically.
If you’re curious about learning more about fast and slow thinking, I’d suggest reading “Thinking, Fast and Slow” by Daniel Kahneman. It’s dense and deeply explains the concepts and tension between our two brains in decision-making.
Fast and slow thinking, and the friction between them, is why product detail pages should mix aspirational and factual content.
Folks buying the latest iPhone may want to think they’re making a decision rationally by looking at the storage or camera specs and comparing them.
Still, they’re also looking at how pretty the photos taken on the phone are or how good that new color looks in someone’s hand.
How this applies to SEO
While it is important to have the specs and details of the product on the page, it’s important to research and include answers on some of the product’s more emotional and aspirational elements.
So while it may be tempting to remove all the “marketing fluff” on the page when you’re optimizing a product page for search engines, I’d advise against it.
Maybe even add more emotion – think of questions that answer how this product is “leveling up” the person who buys it.
If you’re a local electric car dealer, rather than just sharing the charge range, mention some specific landmarks the new, cool owner could get to on a single charge. Maybe even include some pictures of the car there with a driver enjoying an amazing sunset.
It’s cliche, but honestly, it’ll probably work to drive more interest, both at the top and bottom of the funnel.
Some CRO tests to consider
Fast and slow thinking tests have a lot of variations. A few to consider would be:
Isolated vs. in-situ/in-hand product photos.
In-situ/in-hand vs. aspirational “leveled up” product photos.
Highlight features vs highlight benefits in product details.
⏲️ Time Management
This article gives you 6 ways to improve your work-life balance. Below is one of the most important. A lot of people know they should be taking breaks, but then don’t use those breaks in a way that improves work-life balance. Below are some ways to use the break. The article contains 5 other things to take a look at to see if your work-life balance could use some improvement and how to ‘fix’ it.
Use Your Breaks
Humans aren’t built to work non-stop, and you might be surprised to know that working long hours doesn’t increase your productivity. In fact, research shows that the most productive individuals take 17-minute breaks after working for 52 minutes.
To improve your work-life balance and productivity, take regular breaks when working. Ensure that you’re using your breaks to the fullest instead of scrolling through industry-related news, chatting with a client about a future project, or checking your emails.
We’ve listed a few tips to ensure you get high-quality breaks:
Leave the office. Instead of staying in your office during breaks, go out for a walk. If possible, grab lunch with a friend at a nearby café or restaurant.
Socialize often. Call your loved ones during your break to de-stress. Keeping in touch with family and friends can keep you healthy because it’s an accessible and effective avenue to get support.
Have some “me time.” Never feel guilty doing whatever brings you happiness and makes you relax — whether that’s catching up on your favorite series, reading a book, or writing music. Having your “me time” improves personal exploration, increases creativity, and gives you more social energy.
💻 Tools & Technology
Are you team Claude or team ChatGPT? We’ve been reviewing them side by side recently and we’re definitely finding a great space in our workflows for different things for Claude. But ChatGPT is still important for accessing the internet and images if you use those things. Below are some potential use cases but the article contains a video and additional points of comparison between the two to see if one or the other (or both) might be best for your workflow.
Potential Use Cases
General Use: For general inquiries, summarizing documents, and generating content, both models can be effective. However, ChatGPT’s ability to generate images and browse the internet may make it more versatile for users needing access to visual content creation and real-time information.
Creative and Coding Tasks: ChatGPT is better suited for tasks requiring image generation and coding, especially when these tasks benefit from the integration of images and internet resources.
Cost Consideration: The decision between Claude and ChatGPT may also come down to cost. If Claude offers a free or more affordable option for certain tasks, like file summarization without the need for advanced features like image generation or internet browsing, it could be a preferable choice for users with limited needs or budget constraints.
