📈 Performance
A comprehensive study involving over 12,000 corporate employees has uncovered three essential habits that are key to enhancing productivity. This research offers actionable insights for improving your work efficiency. The following bullet points are taken directly from the article, TLDR style. :)
Sleep. A 2019 study introduced at an American Academy of Sleep Medicine conference found that people who drop from seven or eight hours of sleep per night to five or six wind up being 19 percent less productive at work. Drop down to five hours a night, they found, and productivity drops by 29 percent.
Eating. We could write about nothing but studies correlating good diet with health and happiness, and probably have a full career. As one example, a 2016 study out of Australia of 12,000 adults found that people who eat eight sevings of fruits and vegetables a day were measurably happier than those who didn't.
Exercise. This one is for people who use the amount of work they have to do to explain their lack of exercise; a 2019 study of 232,149 people found that exercising just once a week was associated with a 27 percent lower chance of death from any cause during any given year.
⚙️ Optimization
Below you’ll find the first 3 prompts in the order the author suggests you use them. Make sure to read the full article to understand why the prompts are in this order, get the last 3 prompts, and avoid the mistakes people make when trying to write an ebook with ChatGPT. Enjoy!
Prompts in order:
Write the back cover: "I am an expert in [describe your area of expertise] and I have ideas for an ebook about [describe your book ideas]. My target audience is [describe your target audience]. Based on this, can you help me craft a compelling back cover description for my ebook? This description should succinctly summarize the book's content, appeal to my target audience, and clearly articulate why they should read it. The goal is to create an engaging and persuasive summary that encapsulates the essence of the book and convinces potential readers of its value."
Define the concept: "Now that I have a clear back cover description for my ebook, I need a compelling title and subtitle. The title should be memorable, catchy, and reflect the core message of the book. The subtitle should expand on this, providing more insight into what the reader can expect. Can you generate 7 options for both the title and subtitle? I plan to test these options with my target audience to ensure the final choice resonates well and has the best potential for success."
Create the structure. "I've decided on the title '[insert chosen title]' and subtitle '[insert chosen subtitle]' for my ebook, which focuses on [briefly describe the main theme or purpose of the book]. I'd like to include specific elements such as [list any specific elements or focuses you want in the book]. Can you help create a structure for the book that includes an introduction, 5 main chapters, and a concluding chapter? For each section, provide a catchy name and a brief bullet point outline of its contents. The structure should flow logically, ensuring the book is comprehensive and leaves the reader with a clear understanding of the subject."
⏲️ Time Management
In this article, a 30-year-old entrepreneur breaks down how she successfully balances a full-time remote job with a lucrative side hustle in art and home decor, generating $22,000 monthly in passive income by dedicating just two hours a day to her business.
Key Insights:
Efficient Time Allocation: Her work schedule is meticulously organized, with a full-time job occupying Monday to Thursday and a half-day on Friday, complemented by morning hours dedicated to her side business.
This efficient time management allows her to focus on customer emails in the morning and allocate specific weekdays for side hustle tasks, maximizing productivity in both her full-time job and entrepreneurial venture.
Prioritized Task Management: Each day of the week is assigned specific tasks for her side business, ensuring a focused and systematic approach.
Mondays are for creating social media content, Tuesdays for editing, and Wednesdays for art creation and filming, demonstrating a strategic division of tasks that streamlines her workflow and enhances efficiency in her side hustle.
Skill Enhancement: Regular investment in learning and skill development is a key part of her routine.
She dedicates time to acquiring new skills, such as learning about Adobe Illustrator or understanding viral social media trends, which not only aids in her personal growth but also directly contributes to the success and innovation of her business.
Balanced Lifestyle: She maintains a healthy balance between work and personal life, understanding the importance of rest and recreation.
Weekends are reserved for unwinding, spending time with loved ones, or seeking inspiration, which is crucial for maintaining her creativity and avoiding burnout, thereby sustaining her productivity in both her full-time job and side hustle.
💻 Tools & Technology
Anthropic has launched Claude 2.1, a ChatGPT rival, featuring a significantly expanded context window and reduced error rates. This update allows for the analysis of much larger text volumes and aims to provide more accurate responses.
Key Insights:
Expanded Context Window: Claude 2.1 can now process up to 200,000 tokens, equivalent to about 150,000 words or over 500 pages, enabling the analysis of entire codebases, academic papers, or literary works.
Reduced Hallucination Rate: The update has halved the rate of providing erroneous answers, enhancing the reliability of the AI in delivering accurate information.
Increased Processing Time: Due to the larger volume of data it can handle, Claude 2.1 may take a few minutes to respond to complex queries, a notable increase from the typical response time for simpler questions.
Developer-Focused Features: New tools like the Workbench console and 'tool use' feature have been added, allowing developers to refine prompts and integrate Claude more effectively into various processes and products.
