A bit from mine:
(posted in our Doer Entrepreneurs Free Community — off social media)
I feel pretty strongly that as humans we all have value to offer the world. It looks different and sometimes it looks different at different times in our lives.
I feel very fortunate that the value I have to offer the world also has the benefit of making money. I love to save stray cats in addition to helping business owners and freelancers, but saving cats is not a very high income generating activity.
On the flip side, sometimes I see business owners that refuse to put their value into the world because of imposter syndrome. They worry that the value they offer won't […]

📈 Performance
The full article is worth the read and not just the well-listed 6 tips. This article is really important for anyone who has a hard time regulating energy levels because the answer to why that’s happening may well be in one of the background sections here but with that said, here are my 2 favorite tips:
Ensure your goals include well-being milestones. “Sales, revenue, margins, impressions—there’s a long list of things we measure at work. But why not include well-being goals? Measuring elements that affect your well-being—confident starts to the day, positive colleague interactions, completing mental fitness exercise—creates accountability, supports better behaviors and enhances outcomes in your work.”
Practice your growth mindset. “Career growth opportunities can be stressful. They require decisions and they often include more work, new responsibilities and higher expectations. You can prepare for new challenges by practicing discernment and establishing parameters for how you want to grow. This brings clarity, confidence and optimism which will help you overcome any confusion, doubt and dread and fuel a more productive career progression.”

⚙️ Optimization
Privacy is important, but if you are a business owner, this U-turn is noteworthy. Many times small business owners who want to grow, forget that they have a business that runs on information (if you post on social media, write a blog, etc. to help boost your business, this is you, whether you want it to be or not).
Cookies are a huge part of what drives all of the above so while you might not love the idea of being tracked, you probably do love the idea that your content reaches your prospective customers, and tracking is how the internet matches up the two.
We and many others have written lately about the disaster that is Google ever since its AI overviews told us to put glue on pizza and started ranking Reddit for questions we want expert answers to (or want to provide expert answers to). Is this Google’s response? Or at least a start? Maybe. Excerpts below.
In a blog post on Monday, Google said it decided to abandon the plan after considering the impact of the changes on publishers, advertisers and “everyone involved in online advertising.” […]
Google will “introduce a new experience in Chrome that lets people make an informed choice that applies across their web browsing, and they’d be able to adjust that choice at any time,” Anthony Chavez, vice president of Privacy Sandbox, said in the post. “We’re discussing this new path with regulators, and will engage with the industry as we roll this out.”
⏲️ Time Management
Ryan Serhant, Who's Sold $10 Billion in Real Estate Over 16 Years, Swears By His '1,000-Minute Rule'
Regardless of how you feel about Serhant, this is a fabulous way of looking at our time. Many of us value money over time EVEN while stating the opposite. Our actions often indicate that we will spend more time to save money. Think about it. Have you ever spent hours (days? weeks?) on a DIY project not because you love it but to save money? You might be saying “but I didn’t HAVE the money,” which is fair, if you actually sat down and did the calculation. As a business owner, our time is always taking away from something. That something might be moving our business needle forward or hugging our kids, but regardless, these decisions are often not made intentionally but instinctually without truly making the calculations.
In this article, Serhant equates his time to a bank account. So, you don’t have the money? Well, maybe you don’t have the time. It’s not limitless with his strategy. Test it out for yourself! Excerpts below.
View each day as a time bank, with a fresh $1,000 deposit
With 1,000 minutes at his disposal each day, Serhant views his day in 15-minute chunks.
Those segments are then stacked to best meet Serhant's short-term goals, like business he needs to attend to for the upkeep of his firm, as well as long-term goals. […]
Serhant likes to compare minutes to dollars. When something goes wrong, like a meeting that went nowhere or a showing that didn't result in a deal, he doesn't waste the whole day ruminating on the disappointment.
"If someone ruins $15, you're not throwing out $985, that's stupid," he explained. Similarly, if someone asks for an hour of Serhant's time, he thinks about its value in his overall day.
"Like, that's 60 Ryan dollars, you know?" he said.
💻 Tools & Technology
I read a bunch of articles on this and none of them alone felt like they really explained why this matters so much and what we really need to know. So, I asked perplexity.ai and I felt like it did such a great job, the section below is a copy/paste along with its sources. Normally I don’t do my newsletter this way, but each article seemed to have something missing. So, here we go:
Meta's release of Llama 3.1 405B is significant for several key reasons:
1. Open-source frontier model: Llama 3.1 405B is the first openly available model that rivals top closed-source AI models in capabilities and performance[1][4]. This democratizes access to frontier-level AI technology.
2. State-of-the-art capabilities: The model excels in general knowledge, steerability, math, tool use, and multilingual translation[1]. It offers performance comparable to leading proprietary models like GPT-4 and Claude 3.5 Sonnet[2][4].
3. Longer context and multilingual support: The model has a 128K token context length and strong multilingual capabilities, enabling advanced use cases like long-form text summarization and multilingual conversational agents[1].
4. Ecosystem and development potential: Meta is releasing not just the model, but a full ecosystem with sample applications, safety tools, and a proposed API standard. This facilitates easier development and deployment of AI applications[4].
5. Permissive licensing: Developers can use outputs from Llama models, including the 405B version, to improve other models. This fosters innovation and research in areas like synthetic data generation and model distillation[1].
6. Accessibility: The model is available for download and can be run on local machines, offering unprecedented control and access to a frontier-grade AI model[4].
7. Potential for new applications: The open nature of the model is expected to spur innovation in areas that might not be economically viable with per-token costs of closed models[4].
By making such a powerful model openly available, Meta is challenging the notion that cutting-edge AI capabilities must be proprietary. This move has the potential to accelerate AI research, development, and application across various fields[1][4].

This article is a really good breakdown of how we got to where we are now, where in fact we are now, and where we are headed. I recommend a full read especially if you keep feeling lost with it seemingly like there is a new invention every 5 minutes (that’s probably not wrong!). I’m not including excerpts because you really do need the full article but it’s a quick read!

This week’s awesome books, YouTube videos, newsletters, etc. to add to your list!
If you aren’t a science nerd you might not like this book but if you are and prefer a fun read vs a dryer science read, this is a great book for you.
From Amazon:
From University of Washington professor Chantel Prat comes The Neuroscience of You, a rollicking adventure into the human brain that reveals the surprising truth about neuroscience, shifting our focus from what’s average to an understanding of how every brain is different, exactly why our quirks are important, and what this means for each of us.
With style and wit, Chantel Prat takes us on a tour of the meaningful ways that our brains are dissimilar from one another. Using real-world examples, along with take-them-yourself tests and quizzes, she shows you how to identify the strengths and weakness of your own brain, while learning what might be going on in the brains of those who are unlike you. With sections like “Focus,” “Navigate,” and “Connect,” The Neuroscience of You helps us see how brains that are engineered differently ultimately take diverse paths when it comes time to prioritize information, use what they’ve learned from experience, relate to other people, and so much more.
While other scientists focus on how “the” brain works “on average,” Prat argues that our obsession with commonalities has slowed our progress toward understanding the very things that make each of us unique and interesting. Her field-leading research, employing cutting-edge technology, reveals the truth: Complicated as it may be, no two brains are alike. And individual differences in brain functioning are as pervasive as they are fundamental to defining what “normal” looks like. Adages such as, “I’m not wired that way” intuitively point to the fact that the brains we’re piloting, educating, and parenting are wonderfully distinct, explaining a whole host of phenomena, from how easily a person might learn a second language in adulthood to whether someone feels curious or threatened when faced with new information. This book invites the listener to understand themselves and others by zooming in so close that we all look gray and squishy.
