🔥Quote/Prompt
One today is worth two tomorrows.
Use the quote as a writing or thinking prompt to finish your week strong.
A bit from mine:
(posted in our Doer Entrepreneurs Free Community — off social media)
This quote is really timely for me because I have been dealing with my cat's severe acute illness so from that perspective, every day I get to hold her is extremely valuable.
But let's bring it back to business -- her illness has also been a reminder of how important it is to have tools in our toolbelt to be able to move our business forward even when hard things are happening.
And even when hard things aren't happening, when we decide to reschedule something due to energy/mood/etc., I think this quote is a good reminder to ask ourselves whether we are making an intelligent, logical, best decision or...just procrastinating.
So this week I am going to do the hard things, and while the time spent might be less optimized than normal, it will be done.
While done might be better than perfect, slow is also better than not done.
So if you have some hard sh*t on your plate this week, let's take a deep breath, and do that sh*t.
We've got this! 💪[…]

📈 Performance
“While generating value is the most obvious way of understanding a productive day, if that were the only defining component, it could be easy to shift into a toxic productivity mindset—believing that what we contribute takes primary precedence. Thankfully, the trifecta of a productive day takes into account your personal growth and enjoyment as well. Productivity is holistic, touching upon the truth that it’s not simply what we do, but how we feel and grow that help us end the day with a sense of accomplishment.”
Key Insights:
Holistic Productivity is Key: A truly productive day isn't just about ticking off tasks; it should also include elements of personal growth and enjoyment.
Planning with Purpose: Plan your day with clear objectives. This involves not just listing tasks but also setting aside time for skill-building and activities that bring joy.
Effective Communication Matters: Learning to say 'no' and setting boundaries are crucial for maintaining a productive day. This helps you focus on tasks that align with your goals and prevents unnecessary interruptions.
Optimize Your Breaks: Even your breaks should be productive in the sense that they genuinely rejuvenate you. This means avoiding distractions and truly resting during your downtime.
Constant Contact Incorporates AI — Write AI Marketing Emails (Partner - Free Signup!)
Out of nowhere, ChatGPT took the world by storm this year, thrusting Artificial Intelligence into the spotlight where it still remains today. So it may surprise you to learn that AI isn’t that new after all. 🧐
Have you used a website’s chatbot to help you find what you’re looking for? What about smart assistants like Alexa or Siri? Yup – AI.
One of my favorite examples comes from Constant Contact, who’s been quietly revolutionizing the email marketing and CRM industry. With its cutting-edge technology, they’ve been incorporating AI automations into their platform for years making it easier for customers to create and send highly targeted and effective campaigns.
Tired of staring at a blank page, struggling to find the right words to connect with your audience? Their AI content generator can banish writer’s block for good. Think of the time you’ll save crafting the perfect copy for marketing campaigns while increasing your open rates, without breaking a sweat.
Say goodbye to the frustration of content creation and hello to more time doing what you love with who you love. 👋

We All Have ADD…Kinda — And It Matters for Your Business
Multi-article review — links below.
Recently, we reported on a presentation at VidCon this year where a psychologist explained that mental health is declining rapidly, and while attention spans have been reported to decrease in the past, that is now exponential.
Now a new article has come out explaining that ADD diagnoses are on the rise to the point it is causing a shortage of medication which is, of course, combined with the existing shortage of mental health professionals.
We all experienced the COVID pandemic and, according to this article, it is a big driver behind the increase. Moreover, women were disproportionately affected according to this article.
So in a world where everyone — OK, not everyone, a lot of people — have ADD or ADD-like symptoms, what does that mean for your business?
Clients: Make sure your content ranges from short-form to long-form (we wrote about it here) and make sure you have content that makes people feel good after consuming. A meme account might bring views, but they likely aren’t valuable to your business.
Team: Focus is changing on the tail of the remote work revolution and where people were faced with only their work computer, now they are faced with laundry that could be done, a friend that needs a ride, and everything in between – consider flexibility but combined with KPIs so you can both relax and know the needle is moving forward.
You: Re-read the team section above for yourself, but also consider that you might have taken for granted that you did not need a detailed plan for your day, week, etc. to keep you focused…and that might have changed. The higher the stress goes, the clearer our plans should be. For example, on a bad day, I (Jenae) will put one single thing on a Post-it note on my computer so I remember what my focus is until it is done and then I put a new one. I don’t do this every day, but I am conscious of my focus, energy level, stress level, etc. on an hourly level to the point I can easily implement the right tools like the Post-it note method. Do daily (or even hourly) check-ins to see what tools to use from your productivity toolbox that day to get the most out of it and use the strategies in this newsletter to help too!
⏲️ Time Management
The 3-3-3 method is a time management strategy that involves dedicating three hours to deep work, followed by three urgent tasks, and then three maintenance tasks. This approach aims to balance intense focus with other responsibilities.
Key Insights:
Deep Work is Crucial: The 3-3-3 method starts with three hours of deep work on your most important project. This helps you tackle the most demanding tasks when you're most focused.
Balance with Urgent Tasks: After the deep work phase, the method suggests completing three other urgent tasks that don't require extended focus. This allows you to maintain productivity while shifting to less demanding activities.
Maintenance Matters: The last part of the method involves three maintenance tasks like cleaning or answering emails. These tasks offer a mental break while still accomplishing necessary duties.
Why It Works: The method is effective because it combines periods of intense focus with other types of work, making it easier to maintain productivity throughout the day.
💻 Tools & Technology
LinkedIn is a great tool for business owners, but the key is maximizing your time spent there. There are five key LinkedIn features that are often overlooked but can be game-changers for entrepreneurs and business owners in building a strong personal brand and expanding their network.
Key Insights:
Utilize "Creator" Mode for Thought Leadership: Activating this mode can help you host LinkedIn Live events and newsletters, making you a go-to expert in your industry. It also shifts the focus from connections to followers, broadening your reach.
Co-Author Skill-Based Articles for Credibility: LinkedIn allows you to collaborate on articles related to your skill set. This not only enhances your authority but can also earn you a LinkedIn Top Voice badge, adding to your brand's credibility.
Validate Expertise with Skills Assessments: For business owners, proving your technical skills through LinkedIn's assessments can add another layer of trust and authority to your profile, making you more attractive to potential clients or partners.
Monitor Your SSI Score for Networking Efficiency: The Social Selling Index (SSI) gives you actionable insights into how effectively you're networking and building relationships on LinkedIn. A high SSI score can lead to more business opportunities.
