About me and my Frameworks:
I’m Jenae and you’re reading my newsletter. 😊
You may not know this, but I used to work 16-hour days on the regular until a trauma landed me with PTSD and VERY few focus hours. I continued to grow my business and income in just 4 hours a day.
My experience wading through science (I was a science translator) allowed me to build evidence-based frameworks to help not just myself, but you do the same (minus the trauma!).
You’ll get FOREVER access and support for two full weeks!

This has been on my mind a lot lately. I love helping small business owners in all niches but translators will always be my first love 💙 and I see so many of them sharing anti-AI messaging.
This isn't just "not helpful" but truly […]

📈 Performance
We always need to be learning as business owners and hell, as adults, but sometimes it can be plain exhausting. Why can’t things stay the same for like 1 week? In this day and age, it can feel like every time you hit refresh on your feed, the whole freaking world has changed and there’s some new technology to learn. Well good news if you’re like me! This research-backed approach from Inc. shows how small tweaks to how you study and practice can boost retention by up to 50% – without spending more time learning.
We found that interleaving sleep between learning sessions not only reduced the amount of practice needed by half but also ensured much better long-term retention. Sleeping after learning is definitely a good strategy, but sleeping between two learning sessions is a better strategy.
Key Insights:
Say important information out loud to make it more memorable. Research shows this simple act separates information from "mere" thoughts, making your cerebral cortex retain it longer.
Do a 40-second mental replay after learning something complex. Studies found this brief rehearsal period has a huge effect on remembering information for one to two weeks.
Zone out for two minutes after learning to improve memory consolidation. Even closing your eyes and daydreaming helps your brain file away new information as effectively as a full night's sleep.

⚙️ Optimization
Spending time wishing things aren't so isn't a great use of our time, and we're all about productivity, right? We might not love how the web is changing – change is hard, and sure, I wish simple listicle articles still ranked too. But instead of longing for the pre-AI internet, this breakdown from Search Engine Land shows exactly how to make your content work in the AI era.
Bloggers should no longer optimize for rankings. They need to optimize to be included, summarized, and reused in AI systems. [...] When you block AI bots, you block your brand from appearing in tools your audience is already using, such as Gemini, ChatGPT, and Perplexity. You're entirely removing yourself from the AI results ecosystem.
Key Insights:
Make your content modular and AI-friendly by using clear H2s, H3s, bullet points, and tables of contents. AI tools pull from sources that are scannable, structured, and easy to break into independent chunks.
Focus on brand mentions over traffic metrics – your content appearing in AI Overviews with your name attached builds recognition and trust, even without clicks. Think of AI visibility as the new shelf space your content needs to occupy.
Add unique insights only you can provide to stand out from generic content. For example, include personal tips, tested methods, or regional twists that ChatGPT couldn't generate on its own.
Read the full article for specific tactics like adding "AI share buttons" to your content, structuring posts for AI citation, and understanding what Google's core updates really want from creators.
⏲️ Time Management
AI is being used to truly transform time management. But, like any technology, we're collectively going through the hype cycle. I think most people are no longer in the "AI will do/fix everything" phase, but perhaps we're still figuring out where it does and, crucially, does not fit. This Business Insider piece is a good reminder that there's a massive gray area between "use AI for everything" and "I refuse to open a chatbot." Stay human, my friends, but also, be AI-literate.teams.
AI is able to automate a lot of critical-reasoning tasks, and if we fully outsource our own reasoning, it's actually not good enough to run in an automated fashion. [...] When you let it run autonomously, it doesn't have actual context or intelligence, or the many things that we need as humans to make good decisions. And so it's producing stuff that sounds or looks right without actually being right.
Key Insights:
Use AI as a tool that requires human oversight, not an autonomous decision-maker. Bluesky uses AI for moderation and curation but employees always check and revise the output before implementation.
Build your critical thinking muscle even while using AI assistance. Keep writing proposals, strategies, and client communications yourself regularly to maintain the reasoning skills you need to evaluate AI output.
Develop a generalist mindset since AI provides specialist expertise on demand. The real value now lies in having good judgment about how to use AI tools and the flexibility to do something useful with that knowledge.

💻 Tools & Technology
You might be wondering why journaling is in our tools section. As a coach, I recommend journaling constantly because it's one of the most powerful diagnostic tools for your business systems. Many people can't accurately recall what they accomplished, what fell through the cracks, or why their plans went sideways. Freewriting in a journal reveals patterns and insights that help you see objectively what's actually happening in your business. Some clients have discovered immediate system fixes just through this process. This NPR piece shows how to make journaling work even when you're stuck.
The journal is the space where I go to make sense of what has happened to me. [It gives me] the opportunity to reflect and figure out how I'm going to choose my response. In those moments in my life when I felt most laid bare, the journal has been a hiding place and a fighting place.
Key Insights:
Set a specific duration and stick to it daily to write through the fog and get somewhere useful. For example, commit to five days or a week rather than an open-ended "I'll journal when I can."
Attach journaling to an existing nonnegotiable routine to ensure consistency. Writer Suleika Jaouad pairs it with her morning coffee – it always happens because the coffee always happens.
Lower the barrier to entry by using whatever method works for you. Notes app on your phone counts just as much as a leather-bound notebook – there's no "right" way to journal.
Read the full article for specific prompts that work when you're stuck, including the "Just Ten Images" technique and "A Day in the Life of My Dreams" exercise.
🤖 AI
Is your feed being flooded with AI privacy concerns? Alright, let’s take a breath. They're only telling half the story. This privacy guide from Fast Company shows that while yes, AI tools do collect data by default, you have a lot more control than the doom-posters suggest – you just need to know where to look for the settings.
To better protect your privacy, consider making some tweaks to your settings, using private conversation modes, or even turning to AI assistants that protect your privacy by default. To help make sense of the options, I looked through all the privacy settings and policies of every major AI assistant. Here's what you need to know about what they do with your data, and what you can do about it.
Key Insights:
Every major AI tool lets you disable data training - it's just not always obvious where. For example, ChatGPT's setting is under Settings > Data controls > Improve the model for everyone, and once you flip it off, your conversations stay private.
Some AI assistants are already privacy-focused without any tweaking needed. Duck.AI and Proton Lumo don't train on your data at all, while Anthropic Claude only uses conversations if you manually report them.
Private or temporary chat modes exist for when you need extra privacy. ChatGPT's "Turn on temporary chat" feature keeps sensitive business discussions out of your history and training data entirely.
